# Upstream model license and provenance

The official [`BAAI/bge-m3` model card at the pinned original revision](https://huggingface.co/BAAI/bge-m3/blob/5617a9f61b028005a4858fdac845db406aefb181/README.md) declares `license: mit`. The model card identifies [FlagOpen/FlagEmbedding](https://github.com/FlagOpen/FlagEmbedding) as its upstream code repository.

`UPSTREAM-LICENSE.txt` is the complete, unchanged MIT license file retrieved from the official upstream code repository. Its existing copyright notice is retained exactly; this bundle introduces no new copyright attribution for the weights.
